Potato Museum

The Potato Museum or ‘El Museo de la Papa’, located in the renovated Casa Don Gregorio in the centre of El Roque, is dedicated to the dissemination of potato cultivation, a fundamental pillar in the economy of San Miguel de Abona. Through its different rooms, the museum illustrates the importance of this crop, which is not only basic to the food but also to the culture of the island. Guargacho Archaeological Interpretation Centre

The Guargacho Archaeological Interpretation Centre is a gateway to the pre-Hispanic past of San Miguel de Abona. Founded after the discovery in 1972 of an important archaeological site and opened as an interpretation centre in 2011, this centre offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the world of the island’s ancient inhabitants. Through a circular route, you can admire archaeological fragments and pieces, including a replica of a child mummy, providing an in-depth understanding of Guanche traditions and rituals.

Municipal Library

This historic building has had numerous uses. It was the seat of the first Town Hall of San Miguel de Abona at the beginning of the 19th century, and also served as a prison, with trials being held in the church square. Subsequently, it became a school for children and a secondary school, a private home and, since the 1980s, the Municipal Public Library.

San Blas Reserve
